According to the market research firm, chip market has shown signs of growth where as PC market is still slumping.
The chip market growth has been indicated by the good financial reports posted by chip leaders like Intel and AMD. Intel has reported a surge of 12.5% in overall PC processor shipments while AMD marked a 1.8% rise.
The rise in sales was due to the replenishing inventories at the hardware end makers, but PC sales were disappointing. The PC sales have lagged badly in 2Q.
The chip shipments grew by 10.1% as compared to first quarter and market revenue rose by 7.9% for the same.
Atom shipments played an important role in the growth of Intel. The processor has rose 34% quarter-to-quarter.
According to the market analysis, Intel’s major increase in shipments and revenues in the Asia/Pacific region indicate that chip market has rebound. Contrary to which, AMD sales has been flat thus showing no signs of recovery.
Meanwhile, the analysis suggests that the PC market can return to growth by the end of the year.
